Why are we Thursty?

The origin of this mid to late week ritual is unknown. Some say the druids, in the latter part of the 1700s, began imbibing in the forest every Thursday to discuss the deity of the sun, moon and stars. Others say it began out of boredom and curiosity in the capital city of Alaska. This beer drinker, however, prefers to think that Thursty Thirsday came into being right here Portland.

But seriously, why not?
